Cobains Primary School is committed to catering for the needs of every child in reaching their academic, social and physical potential in a safe and engaging environment.
Cobains Primary School has been serving our local community since 1928
by providing high quality teaching and learning programs. Our school is
committed to catering for the needs of every child in reaching their
academic, social and physical potential in a safe and engaging
Our purpose is to promote integrity, life-long learning practices and the attainment of excellence through the commitment of continuous improvement. We have a strong sense of community where the quality of relationships which are developed between parents, students, staff and the wider community assists students to be responsible learners, develop their self esteem, increase in confidence, care for others, and connect to their community.
Cobains Primary School is part of a cluster of small schools in close proximity to the rural city of Sale in Gippsland. To ensure that students have the same opportunities as their counterparts in schools in the larger centres we combine regularly for activities such as Group Days with particular themes eg Science – Questacon, sporting events, camps, teacher planning and professional development. The primary schools in this cluster are: Airly, Bundalaguah, Cobains, Cowwarr, Loch Sport, Nambrok-Denison, Seaspray and Wurruk.

There is a School Assembly every Monday morning from 9 am to approximately 9:15am and parents are encouraged to attend where possible. Our Grade Six School Captains lead our school in singing the National Anthem and inform parents and students on the week's events.
Achievement awards are handed out, and students are given the opportunity to share positive experiences and celebrate successes.
Students residing more than 4.8 km. from our school may be eligible for travel on Government funded buses. If you think your child may be eligible, discuss this with the principal. Country buses are co-ordinated through Sale Secondary College
